The paragraph that describes my adolescence song

  1. My Music Paragraph
    By Patrick Wilson

“The day the child realizes that all adults are imperfect, he becomes an adolescent; the day he forgives them, he becomes an adult; the day he forgives himself, he becomes wise” –Alden Nowlan. This piece of music has certain lines that describe feelings, memories, goals and letdowns experienced during my adolescence. In the chorus you can find lines such as: “just when things are looking up you said it wasn’t good enough”, this line shows that teenagers opinions are different while they are going through their adolescence (one may think that they have tried their hardest when another disagrees because they have a different opinion). Another line depicting me is found in the chorus is: “Cause I’m in too deep, and I’m trying to keep, up above in my head, instead of going under”, these lines describe how I sometimes struggle to get through adolescence with all these emotions and things going on in my mind, for instance: rumors, gossip, stories, study, grades, relationships, friendships, popularity and social acceptance and social peer pressure. The reason these things are so heavy on a young persons minds is because they are unsure about all the physical and emotional changes they are experiencing. These thoughts didn’t exist when we were young children and adults have learned to cope with certain levels of pressure on them, while adolescents are experiencing these changes for the first time. This song involves a lot of relative things that tie it to my adolescence.
